The central hole in the casting is 22.5mm, which means it won't fit over 30mm spindles.

Using the BBT - 18 is easy. First, identify the eight - notch bottom bracket cups you want to install or remove, like the Shimano® Octalink® right cup or ISIS Drive™. Then, align the tool's notches with the cup's notches. Make sure to keep the tool straight while turning it. Note that this tool won't fit over 30mm spindles due to the 22.5mm central hole.
