Product Description

Discover the Wolf Tooth Direct Mount Chainring, a top - notch cycling accessory crafted for SRAM cranks with a 3 - bolt mounting style. This chainring, made from premium 7075 - T6 aluminum alloy, offers both durability and weight savings. It features a patent - pending Drop - Stop asymmetrical tooth design, which provides excellent wear life, great mud clearance, and superb chain retention. The Drop - Stop chainring is compatible with 1x9, 1x10, 1x11, and 1x12 drivetrains. It works well with all 10, 11, and 12 - speed chains, except Shimano 12 - speed chains. For Shimano 12 - speed chains, you'll need Wolf Tooth's specific chainrings. If you're using a 9 - speed drivetrain, a 10 - speed chain is recommended for a tighter fit and better chain retention. Note that it's not compatible with the SRAM 8 - bolt interface. Using a clutch - style rear derailleur is advised. The chainring is black in color, has 42 teeth, is round, and is a chain - retaining single ring. It's suitable for 135/142 MTB hubs and 170/177 hubs, with a 6mm offset and Sram Direct Mount BCD.

Using this chainring is quite straightforward. First, make sure your SRAM crank has a 3 - bolt mounting style as this chainring is designed specifically for it. If you have a 9 - speed drivetrain, remember to use a 10 - speed chain for better performance. When it comes to 12 - speed chains, if it's a Shimano one, you'll need to use Wolf Tooth's Shimano 12 - speed specific chainrings. It's recommended to use a clutch - style rear derailleur to keep the chain in place. As for maintenance, regularly clean the chainring to remove dirt and mud, especially after a long ride. You can use a mild detergent and a soft brush. Also, check the teeth for any signs of wear over time. If you notice excessive wear, it might be time to replace the chainring. Keep in mind that this chainring is not compatible with the SRAM 8 - bolt interface, so don't try to mount it on such an interface to avoid damage.
