Product Description

The SRAM Code R Front Hydraulic Disc Brake in sleek black offers outstanding performance. It shares the architecture of Guide brakes but comes with a larger fluid reservoir and pistons, delivering more power and better heat management. Four aluminum pistons ensure strong stopping power and great heat control. A stainless - steel heat shield reduces fluid temperature by breaking the thermal connection between brake pads and the caliper body. The forged aluminum lever body and blade add durability. Its Bleeding Edge design makes maintenance a breeze, and it includes steel - backed sintered metal pads. Technical specs: Sintered pad compound, weighs 443g, left - hand brake lever, hydraulic actuation, adjustable reach, 950mm hydraulic hose length, and DOT hydraulic fluid. It's designed for e - bikes and has a post - mount caliper type.

Using this SRAM Code R disc brake is easy. First, make sure it's properly installed on your bike's front wheel as a post - mount brake. Adjust the reach of the brake lever according to your hand size for a comfortable grip. When you want to stop, simply squeeze the left - hand brake lever. The hydraulic system will transfer the force to the calipers, and the four aluminum pistons will press the brake pads against the rotor, bringing your bike to a halt. As it's designed for e - bikes, it can handle the extra speed and weight. For maintenance, thanks to the Bleeding Edge design, you can easily perform tasks like bleeding the brakes to keep the hydraulic system working well. Check the brake pads regularly for wear. If they're too thin, replace them with sintered metal pads. Also, keep an eye on the hydraulic fluid level and top it up with DOT fluid when needed. Avoid getting the brake components wet or dirty as it can affect performance. And remember, since there's no adjustable contact point, make sure the initial setup is correct for optimal braking.
