The BBT - 9 is an essential bike tool designed for removing and installing external bearing crankset bottom brackets. One end of this tool firmly engages with the 16 notches of the bottom bracket cups, while the other end fits the 8 internal splines of the crank arm adjustment cap. It is compatible with cups and lockrings that have 16 external notches and an outer diameter of about 44mm. This versatile tool works with a wide range of external bearing crankset bottom brackets, including Shimano® Hollowtech II®, Campagnolo® Ultra - Torque™ and Power Torque™, Race Face®, FSA®, SRAM®, Truvativ®, Chris King®, Phil Wood® outboard bearing, Hawk Racing, Token®, and Fulcrum®.

Using the BBT - 9 is easy. First, figure out which end of the tool to use. The end with the part that fits the 16 notches of the bottom bracket cups is for the cups. The other end with the bit for the 8 internal splines is for the crank arm adjustment cap. When you're removing or installing the bottom bracket, make sure the tool is properly seated. If it's not, you might damage the parts. Also, don't use too much force right away. Start gently and gradually increase the pressure. For maintenance, after each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth to remove any dirt or grease. You can also apply a little bit of lubricant to keep it working smoothly. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust. This way, your BBT - 9 will last a long time and keep helping you with your bike repairs.
